Akon Files Suit Over Konvict

R&B singer AKON has filed a lawsuit against his former business partners alleging they used his name for a new perfume without permission.
The Grammy-nominee and founder of record label Konvict Muzik was recently in talks with fragrance developers to create his own scent, reports the New York Daily News.
But according to documents filed in Manhattan Federal Court on Friday (23Apr10), the Smack That star was stunned when perfume executives formed Konvict Cosmetics International and started selling a scent called Konvict without his approval.
Akon is demanding the company ceases production.
Representatives from Konvict Cosmetics had not responded to requests for comment as WENN went to press.

Redone Launches Label Lady Gaga

He told BBC News: I thank God for my knowledge of music. But the real secret is the artist. We did it right with Gaga. People are buying into her. The whole package  her lifestyle, her sound, her vision.

Redone went on to add he gets record labels coming to him all the time asking for him to create something which sounds like a Lady Gaga hit, but he will only invest his time in artists if they do likewise.

He said: "That's her sound. I made that music, yes, but I made it for Gaga, because that's her. That's what she breathes.

"I'm not doing any more of what I call 'fast food writing' - where people demand a single, a single, a single. No. If you want me to invest my time in you, you need to invest yourself in me, as an artist."

Lady Gaga Perfume Designer

Lady Gaga is to release her own range of fragrances.

The Bad Romance' hit maker has made no secret of her desire to work in the fashion world and recently approached renowned hat designer Philip Tracey to take her on as an intern so she could learn all the tricks of the trade.

The designer's representative said at the time: Lady Gaga has requested an internship. But Philip will have to check her sewing skills first."

Gaga has also previously spoken of her wish to launch her own clothing range, saying: I can't wait to do my own line. It's definitely something I want to do in the next year, as I do have my own style. I'm already talking to my boy Akon about it.

Quincy Jones Kicked Into Touch

Michael Jackson fired Quincy Jones because he thought the producer was out of touch.

The music veteran - who produced the singer's breakthrough 'Off The Wall' album and 'Thriller', the biggest selling album of all time with the star - says Michael sacked him because Quincy loved rap and the star thought the genre was dead.

He laughed: Michael fired me. He said, 'Quincy doesn't understand the business any more. He doesn't know that rap is dead'.

However the 77-year-old doesn't hold any grudges.

The talk show host — who is a VEGAN — was apparently utterly disgusted with the Alejandro singer after she showed up to the interview wearing her famous meat dress. Ellen, a vegan, was horrified when she learned Lady GaGa was coming to the interview in that monstrosity, a source said.
